Senses and Stuff

Our beliefs and past experiences can influence what we see, leading to fill-in images of things not present. Research shows we may place more trust in these made-up visual images than we do in images of things present in reality. Belief influences our visual perceptions, leading to eyewitness claims of extraordinary and unlikely phenomena. UFO believers are more likely to see an alien spaceship in detail than those who do not. Humans experience the world with a delay of hundreds of milliseconds, allowing them to estimate the speed and path of objects in motion and project projected or expected images of where they will be.

This article is very interesting to me; after reading it, it explained a lot and taught me new things. The points brought up in this essay have explained a lot of phenomena in the world. like how we let our beliefs influence what we see, which is why we perceive things differently from our peers. It also explains why we are prone to see things we want to see. Overall, this article was both informative and entertaining.
